Linking to contact form page – setting values

I have a contact form set up with a dropdown for “contact type”.

That’s fine as far as it goes – but – it would be useful for me to be able to link to that contact form from other pages/posts and in that link define what value from the contact type dropdown is selected by default.

Does the contact form support any way of linking to it and setting values in the link to set default values on the form?

  • That’s not possible, no. You do not actually link to the contact form itself, but to the page on which you inserted the form.

A way around it could be to set up different contact forms on different pages so you could link to the contact form you require as the case may be. Of course, publishing pages automatically adds them to your menu, but if you set up a custom menu you can then remove those pages from the menu, but they will remain published so you can link to them. To learn how to set up a custom menu, see here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
