Linking to files on my host server
-
I’ve recently moved my Web sites to WP.com. However, I’m still linking to some PDFs hosted at Godaddy.com. When I roll over those links SnapShot shows the PDF, but when I click on the link (or the SnapShot) it takes me to a WP page with my theme, telling me I’m looking for something that doesn’t exist. Godaddy tells me it’s not their problem. At first I couldn’t get my domain forwarded from Godaddy to WP. Godaddy gave me a different IP address to put in my domain settings. When I did that, the forwarding worked, but this new problem developed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like Godaddy farked you over. It is indeed their problem from what I can see. Good luck getting them to set things right from what I can see; you may have to hand-edit all those links.

You can go to http://www.werewolfsaga.com and roll over most anything in the Free Stuff section on the right. The first one, “A Meeting in the Woods” is a good example. SnapShot shows the PDF, but you can’t get to the file.

It looks like you have stevenewedel.com redirecting to a WordPress.com blog somehow (it’s not mapped to any blogs here), so because the file doesn’t exist in the location at WordPress.com it won’t come up.

Thanks. Not really what I’d hoped for, but I’ve managed to move everything over to WP now.
