Linking to recommended resources
-
*NOTE* I haven’t done anything yet. But and looking for clarification.
I am a youth pastor and do A LOT of reading. I write reviews and make recommendations as well as write other original content. I am an affiliate of amazon.com and am working to group all of these book recommendations into lists for people to search and maybe purchase. I have read (I think) all of the information about advertising that has been provided. I don’t want to put anything on my blog except a (meaning ONE) link to where my recommendations are. Does this violate the TOS?
Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc).
My sites primary purpose is NOT to drive traffic to another site, based on this definition.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You will want to read what Mark (ToS Staff) has said here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/a-final-say-on-amazonb038n-affiliate-links?replies=9#post-321500

Hey timethief,
Thanks for the response. I read it and it raises another question. Mark said:
If you are doing genuine book reviews – by which I mean you have actually read it – then an affiliate link for each book will be okay.
I just posted a review (found here: Book Review | The Messenger: A Parable). I embedded my referral link into the picture. That way if anyone clicks on it they can purchase the book (if they like) and I get credit. Is this an appropriate application of the rule outlined above?
I just want to make sure. Before I continue with other reviews in the future.

Hi again,
Thanks but we don’t need the link for two reasons (1) we can already locate all posts you make to the forums (2) and as it’s in the Staff Questions forum now. :)If you click Welcome, jeremiahspassion on the top right hand corner of any forum page, or if you click the “member” link below your username in any forum thread then every thread and every comment you have ever made on the forum is found there.

Thanks.
I was doing that for anybody who may find this later on. But I will keep that in mind for future reference.

My only concern (keep in mind I am not staff) – that is if you have very many links then someone that does not like any affiliate links might flag your blog and report it to the Terms of Service staff. That concern of having any go around with the TOS group is one of the reasons I have never put any buy from Amazon links on my Useful books page – I just don’t want any hassle
