Linking to wrong Facebook page

    So Facebook deleted my old business page. Very helpful of them but typical of the rubbish user service I expect of Facebook! I used to link my WordPress blog to post to my old Facebook page, but when Facebook cut me off, I deleted the link. I have now set up a new Facebook business page, but whatever I try to do, WordPress doesn’t seem to be able to find it. It will only offer to link to the old page ID, which doesn’t exist any more. Facebook doesn’t even recognise the existence of the old page id any more, but WordPress insists that is the only page id which is available and refuses to offer me the new one (which is now the only one linked to my Facebook ID) . Anyone any ideas? This is not exactly rocket science, but I am continually disappointed by how badly all these sites (Facebook, WordPress, etc) are designed and integrated. If I ran my business as badly as this, I for sure would not have any customers!

    Hey there! I totally understand how frustrating it can be trying to get multiple platforms to link up! It sounds like there could be a couple of possibilities as to what may be causing the issue. The first thing I would do is verify that the page you’re trying to link is an actual business or organization page, not a personal profile, as Facebook hasn’t allowed that type of sharing functionality to personal profiles.

    One other potential issue may be that your browser is attempting to load the cached version of your old connected Facebook page. The easiest way to check this would be to either open up an incognito window or clear your browser cache. Then log in to your WordPress.com account and from your site’s main dashboard navigate to Tools > Marketing and then click on the Connections tab. From there make sure anything related to your old Facebook information is removed and try reconnecting it again.
