linking via code

  I used this to give me info on how to write my own code for link but it didnt work. I’d rather write my own code than use the editor. What was i doing wrong? i put the code in exactly how they suggested.

  the faq seems to have cover link tags rather well. can you show exactly how you wrote the link tag? use the backtick ` (next to the no. 1 key, above tab key) and put it between the code to show it, like this:
