Linking WORD doc to a picture

    How do I do this?
Sorry – I’m new to blogs, and although I can add pics and WORD docs to a page, I can’t work out yet how to insert a pic and then make it ‘clickable’ so as to open a document from it.
    HELP!!!!

You upload the Word doc just like an image, copy the URL, then once your image is inserted you click to select it, click on the Link icon, and insert the URL of the Word document.

Thanks – I think I’ve got it now, albeit by it opening a new ‘window’ which then links to the WORD doc.
It’s gotta be easier than this!

Here is an example of how to do it:

    <a href="http://bigpblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/multiplying-decimals-by-2-and-3-digit-numbers-48.doc">Your New Math HomeWork</a>

You can copy this basic form and put it into any post…obviously changing the file part is going to change the linked file. When you have a text string surrounded like that the text string becomes the link. Give it a try!

If you want to link a picture instead of text, use this code.

    <a href="http://bigpblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/multiplying-decimals-by-2-and-3-digit-numbers-48.doc"><img src="YOURPICTURELINKHERE" /></a>
