Linking YouTube videos to blog post questions

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, some of my blog posts have YouTube video links on the posts. However, I only want just the video that I linked to my blog to play and nothing else. Is there a way to lock YouTube links or a setting so that no other videos get played?

    Thank you

  • Hello @billboardguy,

I believe the screenshot below is what you are referring to:

This setting is actually from YouTube. There have been a few methods over the years but at this time, there isn’t one that works to disable related videos from showing after your video or when the video is paused.

One option that may help would be to have only videos from your channel show up instead of randomly suggested videos. This video below sheds a little more light on how that can be done.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi there,

    I’m afraid that’s not possible.

When you share a Youtube video in your post, you’re actually embedding a bit of the Youtube website in your post. The Youtube block that’s added to your site is essentially just a frame. Everything inside that frame comes directly from Youtube, and is entirely controlled by them.

So the only options you can use to configure the block are those provided by Youtube, and currently the only customization they offer is to have the video start at a specific time. You can set that when you click the Share button on a video on Youtube before copying the link it generates.
