linking/embedding a wordpress.com blog into my other site

  Hi, does anyone know the technical side of how to embed a wordpress.com blog into an external site? I am using dreamweaver 8 to build the external site and would simply like to embed the blog into a right-side column. Also, I’m trying to figure out how to put calendar icons in…I’m no css guru so any simple suggestions or directions to help would be most appreciated! Tx!
