How do I add a LINK to allow someone to send something.
I opened links widget. email address appears in widget column yet when I click on states phishing error message.In LINKS: clicking URL gives phishing error
clicking on NAME goes back to my siteWhen I go to Users the email address listed works fine opening a new window to send an email.
The objective is:
create a link in side widget column to send an email.
Prefer link uses HERE rather than entire address.

I don’t currently see a link to an email address in your sidebar. Usually this can be achieved with the following code:
<a href="mailto:[email address]">HERE</a>Its possible your code just wasn’t set up correctly. Can you try again and let me know if it works?

above code allows http:// email address to show in widget
however, still takes to the site not a place to write an email

Need help in setting up link for email in side widget.
I am missing something, I tried the code.I am totally stuck and have searched the forums with no luck.
Can I or should I add a contact form to the side widget?

Hi there!
I think I see the problem. You don’t want to add http:// The email address should read “mailto:[email address here]” just like my code above does.
I’ve edited the code in your text widget titled “Share your confession here!”. Check it out and let me now if that makes sense now!

There is still no link. What I am striving for is:
click on Share your confession here! and lead you to the gmail account to leave a message.I ditched the 3rd party b/c of an error mesg.
Meanwhile I have changed dns codes-. I am at a total loss as to what to do. Thanks.

the email address was newsubmissins@sharedparentingconfessional (very long :) I will change after I figure out how to make a link .
Meanwhile I have changed dns codes-.

click on Share your confession here! and lead you to the gmail account to leave a message.Okay! The way that your widget is set up currently, the text “Share Confession” is a link. It looks like you removed the “mailto:” portion of the code I had set up, so I put that back because without it, the link does not work.
If you’d like that link to say something different, edit the portion that says “Share Confession” in the body of the widget.
You can’t make the title of the widget a link, so you may want to change the text of the current link and then remove the title of the widget.

I am at a total loss as to what to do.I just made a couple changes to your DNS settings so that your email forwarding is working properly again. You can see the current email addresses that are set up at Store > My Domains. Click on Edit DNS and then select Email.
If you’d like to set up third party hosting for your email, just let me know and I help you get your DNS records set up correctly!

that would be very helpful!currently, the “check emails” with network solutions takes you back to the site. Is that wordpress or network solutions?

Hi there!
You removed the “mailto:” from the link again. I’ve added it back. The code should look like this:
<a href="mailto:(email visible only to moderators and staff)">My Confession</a>Note the mailto: before the email address. This tells your browser that when you click on this link, it should open your default mail program and create a new email to the following email address.
To set up your Network Solutions account, you can follow these directions:

If you have any troubles, let me know and I’ll take a look at your DNS settings.

I made changes to DNS.
Clicking on MyConfession allows an email to be sent. :) YEA!!!Now, the issue is I cannot access the email at net solutions. Tech support stated I need to talk to wordpress-that net solutions needs to be a CNAME- which I added.
Am at a loss as to what to do.

I’ve fixed your DNS records. They should start working within a couple of hours.
You’ll need to create your email addresses through your Network Solutions account, not in your DNS settings.

Thanks for checking DNS records.
Email addresses are set-up with Network Solutions and I could access the email before these changes.
Still unable to access email. Have called support 2X.
Netsol support stated DNS CNAME should have .com.netsolmail.net. after mail and smtp. so I changed the “mail” address to reflect that. still unable to access email.Support with netsol also stated the NS3.wordpress.com name needs to be changed??
Does that sound right?? What now?

email sent are bounced back to my personal email.

Can you ask Network Solutions for the DNS settings required for your email address? Everything looks right from what I can see, but if they could let me know exactly what your records need to be then I can be sure that nothing was missed in the back and forth.
Also, I’ve never heard of the name server NS3.wordpress.com conflicting with an email provider. Can you ask them for more information about this?
If you contact them via email, just copy and paste their response here.
