your interface is terrible stop those ‘intuitive changes’ to links to external websites
today when i tried to paste links into the blog i experienced at least five various flaws as i will describe: first when i saved the draft it DELETED the link and in ‘draft’ showed error ‘this block cannot display’ due to a link. forcing me to try to repaste the link
then when i tried again, during embedding, the interface switched the letters of the link that is horrible i can only see the name of the website not wich page of the website STOP changing things and even when i chose ‘post’ instead of block still when i pasted a link your website showed another warning ‘this block cannot display ‘ i needed almost TWENTY attempts to move the link and to preserve the link unchanged when i posted in your frustrating site stop doing the stage of ‘adjusting or embedding’ links and also when i click ‘ctrl+k’ that does not complete the link building it is not enough why not? then i also needed to tap ‘enter’ and then… your flawed interface REPLACED the enter instead of the link deleting the link that i had workd so hard to purify and paste that is disgusting if you would simply allow ‘pasting links’ without embedding then user could choose IF we want to edit url or not
please stop changing stuff during embedding. -
Hello, it sounds very frustrating. Can you share a link to a draft post on your WordPress.com website where you encountered this? Only Staff will be able to see it.
Also let us know what browser, OS and device you are using while working on your WordPress.com website.

thanks. yes it was frustrating seeing the paste vanish. i provide a link to the first flaw.
i want to share a screenshot, how?
the link follows the details: when i paste a link into the draft and save the draft the data is deleted. when i continue editing i see a warning [in hebrew that translates to] “this block contains content that is unexpected or a mistake” if i click on the option “try to recreate block” the block was empty and the link was deleted.
the next flaw to fix: if i try to repaste the link into that editing interface, then “intuitive change” hides the address [you know the url,] it CHANGES to the title words of the webpage, which hides the page address, even before allowing me the user to choose to edit the appearance of the link. those were the first flaws to focus on first. thanx

this time i did not yet click “attempt to renew” but when i did in the past the data is lost and an empty block replaced the warning.

i was forced to change my “main picture due to the absence of the “add media” option. none of the instruction pages match the interface.

this situation in pictures occurred when i pasted into the editor, then saved the draft, then went to publish, it has the warning “this block contains undisplayble content. ”

if i click on resolve, the data is lost as if no data was entered. that is the current state at the first link i sent macman.
even the instructions are bad not only the interface…. all four instructionn pages that i listed. -

as you can see i needed 1:20 minutes to attempt at uploading screenshots that is absurd situation from my first reply today until now…

next flaw:
when i recreated the third flaw, this time the embedding process did not change the letters in the link but instead a new problem so i added the screenshot to the same post using the method /image
when i paste the link in the past it would change which was bad, but now it did not change so good. next i need to change the letters into a link so i clicked ctrl+k, sometimes the box with the address is empty. so i need to paste again. that step lacks an option to edit how it appears for example if i want the “title” to appear and by clicking on the title they will be sent to the address called yrl. worse when i tried and clicked enter the result was two links one address in yellow as a link and one extra so that is an additional flaw as seen in the third photo of the same link screenshots 2. that occurred when i clicked enter as instructed. and if i click enter without editing then the linkk ets deleted which is another flaw to fix. -
Unfortunately, this is getting confusing to follow, which makes it difficult for us to provide the help we are capable of. And we definitely want to help you. :)
What I would like to do is start with the first issue you brought to us, and work our way through each issue, one at a time. Will this method work for you? If so, here is the first issue…

1. Where are you copying the link from?
2. What is the link? (it is in the screenshots you provided, but it would be nice to see it here in the support thread please)
3. How exactly are you pasting this URL into the block? Can you provide us with the steps?Looking forward to your reply so we can help you get this resolved.

i like your detailed approach i also tried to start from the first flaw, but each step in the pasting and in the screenshots and the instruction pages added more problems.
so i answer in order:
one: i copy the link from an address such as url , as you saw in the screenshots that i published in the post “screenshots 2”. i refer to the third picture.
two: for example, i select the address from the webpage:
http://www.rabbinoam.bloger.co.il/316000/
three: next, using control+v , i paste that into the draft, at the wordpress webpage wp-admin.
the next step is i click “save draft”. next i open the list of drafts and choose “edit” when i open edit i see the warning, the one that appears in the first screenshot “cannot display”. that is the first flaw. a link in a block cannot display. so how can we fix this?
if i obey the instruction “renew” as offered in the interface and as instructed on the help page, then the block deletes as in the screenshot in that post… the data is lost as if i had never entered the data.
so that can be the first issues we can improve together. -

This link you added is broken still, yes? Can I see this on your homepage? Or is it a specific place I need to look at?
I’d like to take a closer look at the link as well as how the post appears when I visit the editor and see the “cannot display” warning. Thanks for pointing it out!
