How can I add links?

I sent one message earlier but have not heard and I’m trying to get this post out. I have successfully added links in the past, but now when I try, the entire text in the post is highlighted, and the link code appears at the top of the post, but does not connect with the highlighted text in the post. What am I doing wrong??? This is very frustrating–please advise!! Thanks so much.

Sorry for the frustration. Can you try clearing your cache and cookies first? if that doesn’t work can you try using Firefox?

Hi — I didn’t realize you had responded, sorry for my delay. I tried clearing out my cache, and using Firefox and still no luck. I’m baffled, especially since it has worked in the past. I no longer see a option for “visual” versus “HTML” either. Do you think this is related? I’d really like to figure this out, so appreciate your help.

Ah, that could be related. In Users > Personal Settings can you check that you don’t have the “Disable the visual editor when writing” option selected? That would be what’s causing the Visual tab to no longer appear. Thanks!

Yea! That worked! Thank you. I guess I’m still wondering why it didn’t work under the option I had, but for some reason the system is happy now, so that’s the important thing. Thank you again.
