Links all redirecting to a WordPress site
-
I’m looking for some help in adding links to my blog posts. It seems to happen randomly, and to most of the links I place on any post. When I create a link HTML tag around a bit of existing text, either by manually typing the HTML code, or by using the “Link” option in both the HTML and Visual editor, my link brings me to “http://en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs” when it’s clicked.
It also happens when I paste HTML code from a banner that I want to link to my blog as well.
The only time that my links seem to work without incident, is when I create an Image widget on my main homepage of the blog, and add the link to it.
I would appreciate some help on this, as getting this fixed would make it way easier to post proper links to my blog, and not worry about where they are leading people to.
My blog address is “http://reallyfreestuff.wordpress.com”, and I have created a test post with a link on it.
Thanks,

Hi Ryan. Did you read what the “types of blogs” page said? That should give you a clue as to why WordPress.com automatically replaced the links.

To be honest, I really didn’t pay much attention to it. I just thought it was some general information page. Now that you pointed me in the right direction, I see the section about affiliate links. That’s the answer I needed :) Thanks for the help.

…and I’ve read that “types of blogs” page, and the links that are being redirected do NOT fall into any of these categories.
Do you have a more complete explanation or assistance? It would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like she lost the argument:
sarahdiavola.wordpress.com is no longer available.
This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service.
Why do people not bother to read the TOS? Do they just not care?

IMO anyone who would post and sell images like those is not usually a longterm thinker, who is into reading contracts before agreeing to them. Perhaps having her blog deleted has been a saving grace for her future children and spouse. At least they won’t be viewing them and cringing with embarrassment.

I am having a problem getting links to embed–and I know I’m not violating the terms of service. I’m trying to put an article from a newspaper about a library… and it keeps redirecting me not to the TOS page, but to the “Posts” page. Why?

TOS page, but to the “Posts” page. Why?
I’m sorry but this is not a matter for posting to a public forum. We Volunteers answering support questions have no role to play in this process. This is between you and Staff.
