Links are not working when post is accessed from main menu

Our site is http://www.rmwebstitchers.wordpress.com. We want to load documents and have them linked to a page. It works fine when we access the post from the side bar menu of “recent posts”. However, when we access the post from the main menu and subcategory, the link does not appear. I have one under “Test/Test Links” and another under “Education/Education News with the post “Test Attachments”.

As soon as the title link is clicked the links are active. Example > http://rmwebstitchers.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/test-attachments/

OK, so what I’m seeing is that if I select from the list of recent posts, the links automatically appear. However, if I select from the main menu at the top then I have to click on the title for the links to appear. That would seem to be confusing to my followers. Is this correct? If so, is there anyway around that so I don’t have to explain it?

Whether or not full posts are displayed on Categories Pages and Archives pages is theme dependent ie. it’s coded into the template and we cannot edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/
In the majority of themes, posts on category or other archive pages show up just as they do on the main posts page in the blog and the number displayed is also the same. (See this page > Settings > Reading and note how many posts you choose there sets it for all). But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. As Twenty Ten does have an active except box you can do what houstonweaver is pointing to. On any theme with an active excerpt box you can use this workaround to have full posts on the front page.
You compose your whole post first and before you publish it you switch to the HTML (Text) editor, copy the code, paste it into the Excerpt box, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts
If you do not see an excerpt box then go to screen options on the top right hand corner of your Admin page and include:
Post – Likes and Shares, Format*, Categories, Tags, Excerpt, Send Trackbacks, Discussion, Comments**, Slug, Author, Revisions, Writing HelperP.S. On themes that do have an active excerpt function, the workaround works very well but you have to do it on every post you create.

OK, I’ll give it a try. It’s confusing because the links work on the “Join Us” menu option. I think that one works as I set it up as a page and the ones I’m working on now are posts.

Yes, your distinction between the page and your posts is correct. If you are not wedded to your theme there are some that will display full posts on your category pages. See that wpbtips page that time thief linked to if you are willing to consider another theme.
