Links Disappears Whenever I Add A New Widget!

    I have been driven mad trying to figure out how to stop this. Every time I post a new widget, my Links widget disappears. When I go to look in my widgets, the links widget shows as used—yet it doesn’t show in the column bar. I have tried everything and the only option seems to be to either have my blogroll and no other widgets, or to have other widgets but no blogroll. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how I can remedy it?

    Most themes come with a small preset of suggested (artificial) sidebar items. Once you add a widget yourself, the preset is cancelled, and normally you can then add whatever widgets you want.

    If a widget shows as used, then you’ve probably switched from another theme in which you had added it. In that case, you should switch to the old theme, remove all widgets, save changes, then switch back to the new one and add the ones you want.
