Links do not work when directed from a domain
-
I have the domain OccupySavannah.org, .com, and .info. They are with Godaddy.
I redirected and masked them to OccupySavannah.wordpress.com…
When a person comes to the site through the org, com, or info. They cannot click through to the individual journal entries. If one comes to the journals through wordpress it does work. Also, for some reason I cannot get the meta tags to recognize. I have tried Google and Yahoo. I have not bothered to try live.
Regards,
Julia

That is basically how domain forwarding/masking works. It’s designed for sites with one page.
For this to work properly, you’ll need to map your domains here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Thank you, macmanx. I saw that, however, I have JuliaClark.org with yahoo redirected to wordpress. and it works without having to pay 12 a year. In other words…
When someone visits JuliaClark.org. they are able to “click though” and I do not pay wordpress extra for this. (yahoo services do cost more than godaddy)Is what yahoo is using different than godaddy?
-
Probably the difference is masking. Are you just forwarding through Yahoo or masking too?
-
I am masking JuliaClark.org.. I reset the OccupaySavannah.org to be forwarded only, but now when you go to OccupySavanah.org you see the wordpress.
Why does yahoo, behave correctly and godady does not? -
I really can’t say, you’ll have to ask GoDaddy. We can really only support domain mapping when it comes to applying a domain to your WordPress.com blog.
