links font are red

    i have two questions:
    1)i copied a search result from a search engine.it contaned links in red. and my post also retains the red colour.
    to have a peek just click: http://shongjog.wordpress.com/tag/bangladesh-online/page/3/
    my question is, if garland (the theme i am using) allows colour customization of fonts, then where exactly can i get it done according to my own taste?

    2)it is possible to upload images elsewhere (eg photobucket)and get them to be on wp. would it possible to do the same with text? (if so, i can do the font customization there (size, colour etc) and get them on wp via a link.

    many thanks in advance

    The change in colour is coded into the HTML. When you copied the content, you copied all the HTML tags as well, even those you can’t see. The problem with this is, you often get unclosed tags or harmful tags you can’t see. It’s generally best to copy content, paste it into something like Notepad that strips out the formatting, and then copy from that and paste it into your blog. Otherwise you’ll get all kinds of unpredictable errors.

    As to how to change the colour, all WP.com blogs are able to display different coloured fonts. The FAQ is here:
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/12/can-i-change-my-font-font-size/

    As to your second question, I don’t understand what you’re asking. You’re supposed to write your own content and put it in the blog. Are you asking about automatically taking content from other sites and displaying it on your blog? This is called Blog Scraping and unless you have the permission of the copyright holder, it’s both illegal and against the terms of service here. Could you explain more fully?

    If you’re asking about using your WP.com blog to mirror copy you post elsewhere on the web, you can do that but staff requests in that case that you set the blog to Private.

    eeek!
    blog scraping is not what i am upto.i wanted to copy my OWN content from somewhere else of course!

    or wanted to. i mean, it was a roundabout solution to having fonts of different size and colours, in case that was not possible within wp.
    sorry for all the confusion.

    and thanks for answering both questions.

    you could customise your font type, colour etc in microsoft word, paste it into microsoft paint and save it as a jpeg, then upload to your comp as a picture. it’s a roundabout way but there’ll be no doubt as to how it will look like in your blog.

    @shomoshor
    Unless you are the author of the real estate ads that you have posted on your blog or, you have been given permission to post them, then what you are doing is blog scraping and as raincoaster says this is illegal and against the ToS.
