links I didn’t link
-
My blog stats tell me that my readers are following links from my blog to websites I didn’t link — that look like scam/fake blogs that are actually advertisements. I can’t locate the links anywhere within the blog. What’s going on?
-
Probably those other blogs are linking to you or stealing your content. Do a forum search for “sploggers” or “blog scrapers” or just follow the results of the tag cloud in the forum sidebar.

Following raincoaster’s advice, I read about “sploggers” but (and I may be missing something) I don’t think it’s the same thing.
Under Blog Stats, in the Clicks category, it lists a bunch of links that readers have clicked on but which are no where (that I can discover) actually linked on my blog. Is it possible that someone has somehow replaced legitimate links with these faux links?
Here are a couple of the linked sites: health-god.blogspot.com; mining-mining.blogspot.com; www-xiaojiang.blogspot.com.
According to my stats, I have LOTS of people being sent to these weird sites everyday.
Thanks!

This can happen if someone with a spyware-infected browser reads your blog. The spyware alters or adds links to the page when the infected browser displays it. When the person clicks on those links, the clicks appear to be happening on your blog so they show up in your stats.

So, it’s their problem not mine? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
