Links in the block editor
-
I just put up a new post using the block editor. The link I included in the text did not take on a color showing that it is a link. The link works, and if you mouse over it, the cursor indicates it is a link. But I had to add the color. Otherwise most readers probably wouldn’t realize it’s a link. The link in the caption did change color, but the one in the paragraph did not. Did I miss something?

Hi @windwhistle,
Link color is determined by your theme, not by the editor, and based on the theme demo at https://beacondemo.wordpress.com/html-elements/ links should be a different color automatically.
I activated your theme on a test site, add some text in the block editor including a link, and the link displays in a different color just like on the demo site. If that’s not happening on your end, something else is interfering, most likely a piece of custom CSS you have added to the site.
Can you give a link to a post containing a link that isn’t appearing at a different color?
Have you made any modifications to the font color for the block itself via the block settings in the sidebar? That would also override the theme’s default color for links, due to the order in which the different CSS stylesheets are loaded.

Over on the right sidebar I had text color set to black. I’m guessing that overrode the color that would normally have appeared. Thanks for your time. I’m still early in the learning process.
