I think my dashboard has a bug, when inserting links to websites the links do not show up unless i put the code in twice manually like this :
http://themym2012.blogspot.com/The link insertion tool on the dashboard fail to insert the code correctly, putting in only this as such the link does not appear Any ideas? Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There have been a few that have experienced this in the recent past, but since I’ve not seen any complaints I thought it was fixed.
Have you tried a different browser? Which browser and browser version are you using?
Many have had good luck by switching to the HTML editor to put in their links. They seem to stick if they do it that way.

Hello thanks for the speedy reply, it seems to be same in all browsers, I have just installed ubuntu and tried with firefox and the same issue a win 7 with avant browser, internet destroyer er i mean explorer lol and firefox :))

Firefox is typically the most trouble free browser when working with WordPress, and I’m not sure what else to offer. Sometimes this can be a cookie or cache issue as well, but since you have tried several browsers that probably isn’t the issue.
Still, in Firefox, log out, clear the browser cache and cookies, restart the browser and then give it another try.

Mine keeps defaulting to the file/image URL regardless of whether I save all changes or not.

Yes its inserting the code but only half of it. I can do the code ok but when your trying to train a older person the link option would be much easier for them, perhaps a genius at wordpress admin could take a look and see why only half the code is being inserted. I would be forever gratefull :))))
-
@ufohunter, can you give a link to a place where this has happened, or paste a link that you are having issues with here so I can take a look?
-
@thesacredpath That would be difficult because if I do this the link wont show up unless i upload a plain txt version of the code as the dashboard is showing it, gimme 20 mins to work out a plan :))
-
@thesacredpath The link to my gallery page is http://tlcfiji.wordpress.com/gallery/gallery-2/ if you’re interested to look.
I’m trying to link images on this page in some cases to a flickr set and in other instances to another page on this same WP blog. thanks for your direction, -
@thesacredpath I have copied and pasted the code in to the message box on your blog as wordpress will not allow me to upload a .txt document to the post arghhh lol
-
@thesacredpath This is page created from that code, you will see the “missing link” lol if you will excuse the pun ha ha :)) http://ufohunterorguk.com/2011/12/06/demo-test-page-html/
-
@thesacredpath…sorry, further to my previous reply, in both cases the appropriate link doesn’t stick.
@ufohunter – Is it possible that because I’m using Safari, I can’t even see where to put the code in as an option? When I go to the HTML tab the only code there for my gallery is [gallery].
-
You cannot link gallery images to whatever you want. That is NOT an option. You would have to insert the images one by one and then link them individually to whatever you wanted to link them to.
Safari has nothing to do with it. I’m on a Mac with Safari and have zero issues with the WordPress dashboard, or anything WordPress for that matter.

just put the code in using the html editor like this:
Your title
<img class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-9244″ title=”I_Want_To_Believe” src=”http://ufohunterorguk.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/i_want_to_believe.jpg?w=300″ alt=”” width=”700″ height=”225″ /><img class=”alignnone wp-image-2174″ title=”imagesCAPK6ELW” src=”http://ufohunterorguk.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/imagescapk6elw1.jpg” alt=”” width=”700″ height=”192″ /> -
