Links not showing up in text widget

I have tried several times to put in a link to a advertiser or a button graphic of mine but it often shows up as just HTML blah instead of the actual graphic. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks so much,

Links to advertisers will get your blog deleted before you can blink. User generated advertising is not allowed here at wordpress.COM.
Typically is the code is showing up in the widget, it means there is something wrong with the code. You can post it here in the forum between backticks (the key to the left of the #1 with the ~ on it).

My suggestion is to remove all the advertising right away. WordPress scans for that stuff automatically.

That Cashbaq badge with a referral link might be a ToS violation too. It’s a pyramid scheme with the blogger getting a cut of all purchases made by those who sign up via that link.
