Links not working under “category” filings
-
I am using the neo-sapian theme for my blog (long story short – my web host is an absolute disaster so I’ve made a WP blog site using the basic WP product – i.e. free stuff – while I figure out what to do about my host).
The problem is that when I put links in a post – they work just fine on the home page but when you visit the post via the categories/archives – the links don’t work.
I tried to contact the designer of the theme but he has sold his “company”(?) and the new owner has no contact information.
Anyone have any solutions?
Thanks.

We’ve had a thread about that yesterday with another theme: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/links-not-live-on-category-pages?replies=11

can you give us a link to your blog?
it could be that under categories/archives the links don’t work because you need to click on the post itself. for instance, some themes when viewing categories/archives will show a snippet of each post instead of showing it in full; perhaps the links quirk is like that.

Carocat – thanks – I read that thread yesterday. Unfortunately – it basically says, it depends on the theme. Since I can’t contact the developer of the theme – I tried here to see if anyone knew about this theme itself.
Sulz – yes, I thought about that. But that’s really not terribly bright (of the developer!). I took a look again and that indeed is how the “old” posts are displayed.
Not sure how I “explain” that to the users and how to instruct them to get to the actual post (the only way I see is to have them click on the “comments” link.
If you have any smart solutions, thanks. If not – it’ll survive.
The blog is http://www.rbyswimteam.wordpress.com.
I already have a WP site at http://www.aquarockets.com. if you go there – you’ll see the site is “dead”. My host – being the rocket scientist that he is – decided to change his servers and he loaded the backed up files incorrectly. So now I can’t make any posts at all!!! I’m furious.
Unfortunately – he also owns the domain. So I have to wrestle that from him and then proceed.
Being a relatively naive website manager – it’s all greek to me. I just try to run a website for a YMCA swim team that my daughter is on!!! Yea me.
Thanks for the help.

Contacting support is pretty much your only option really, but considering Neo Sapian has been here for over a year I don’t think there’s much they’ll do.
As far as I understand it, theme designers don’t have much more to do with the theme as it will have had to be changed to be adapted here in the multiuser environment.

And please consider linking your blog to your user name as explained here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54 as it will make it easier for volunteers in the forum to help you in the future.

Not sure how I "explain" that to the users and how to instruct them to get to the actual post (the only way I see is to have them click on the "comments" link.a note at the sidebar, perhaps? or create a page on ‘how to navigate this blog’. :)

In the thread carocat linked to, staff says that this is not a problem but standard behavior when excerpts instead of complete posts are shown, and I mention NeoSapien in the list of themes that do that.
The way to get to one complete post is clicking on its title.
