Links, "read me more" tags
-
Hi All,
The primary objective of my site is to have results and fixtures of matches played by my club. Ideal I would like something that if you post the the result of match then you can have a link saying “match report” and your then taking to a screen while still on club site to view the report.
An example of this would be https://aughawillangaa.wordpress.com/category/clubnotes/
Thanks in advance
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
WordPress has something similar with the read more tag. You could insert it after a brief summery and it would take readers to the full post if they click on it.

To customize the tag you would insert the following:
<!--more YOURCUSTOMMESSAGEHERE--> -
Thanks for your response. I was missing the bit were I customize the tag. I will give this a go.
I appreciate the help

I see this will only work with posts and not pages correct??
However I get around this once I do create a post with a “read me more tag” and get that URL I can have that URL as a link in a page.This will have to be done manually do by the admin after games ya.

This will only work with posts, not pages, because pages don’t go in a long column on one page, one after the other, the way posts do. If you’re on the individual Page, you’re on it. Adding a Read More would be pointless.
I do not know why you would do that workaround above. It will lower your attractiveness to search engines and annoy your readers.

I should also add when you add a custom read me tag make sure you do it in the text editor as it will be easier to see and edit.
