links run together on right side of page
-
If you check the right side link widgets, all the links have no spaces between them, so it’s hard to tell what’s what. On the other hand, on the left side, the recent posts list is fine and there are spaces between them. How can I get spaces between the ones on the right?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s difficult to guess:
A link to your blog starting with http:// would allow volunteers to have a look at your blog. -
If this is the blog with the problem,
http://zenstorming.wordpress.com/
I am not seeing a problem with the right sidebar. -
You are correct: the blog is as you noted. Look under “Recent Posts” on the left side. Each entry has a space between each entry. Like an extra carriage return.
Now on the right under “Creativity Websites”. There is no extra space between entries and they all run together one after another. So it’s sometimes hard to figure out what’s what.
Does it make sense?
Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

When I test that theme, it appears to me the widgets generally are all cramped and crowded. “Categories” “Links” and “Archives” have very little leading (space between lines). Those are the default cats with your theme.
I’m having trouble with my test blog so I can’t put the ‘recent posts’ widgets in a sidebar to see, but I’m wondering if perhaps Andreas09 has different formatting for just that widget. ???
Your link “Lateral Action: Creativity+Productivity=Success” is pushing out beyond the margin of the sidebar. Could be that is affecting the formatting because the title is so long????
Hope someone else will chime in.

For whatever reason that is the way the theme author designed it. It is something that staff would have to change in the theme underlying files although in some themes, you can change it with the paid CSS upgrade IF you have experience with CSS. There is no official support and only a few here with a little bit of experience with CSS.

tsp,
That’s what I was getting at. But what about the blog roll link pushing out beyond the margin of the sidebar? That could be fixed or no? -
That has to do with the fact that there is no space in that line which means the wordpress software can’t wrap the line. You can have that problem with any theme when you have one long line of text with no spaces. He has plus signs between the works which makes it into one long word.

Not:
“Lateral Action: Creativity+Productivity=Success”
But:
Lateral Action: Creativity + Productivity = Success”textwrap+space=GOOD
(so Shakespeare does not have a line for everything under the sun)

@zenstorming: If you dislike it so much, you can remove the links widget and put your links in text widgets instead. In that case you can adjust the line spacing, this way:
<div style="line-height:1.8;">LINK_HERE</div>
You can copy the links easily by dragging and dropping from the main blog page to the visual editor. -
(before removing the links widget, have 2 windows open: 1. your blog page, and 2. visual editor. drag from page to visual editor)
-
Thanks all for the brilliant feedback. It’s much appreciated and makes much sense. By visual editor do you mean the open text box that I’m plugging links in to?
-
He’s talking about the visual post editor which is a quick way to get things ready for a text widget. You do all your composing in the text editor, and when done, switch to the HTML tab and copy everything out of that window and paste it into the text widget.
