Links to Amazon not working on mobile site

    The links to my books on Amazon don’t work on the mobile site (but do work on pc).

    And why are they attempting to be sent through wordpress.redirectingat.com ??

    What kind of click-theft is going on?

    Hi!

    Just a note, it looks like the site you mention is self-hosted. We primarily support sites at WordPress.com. Since your site is self-hosted, I’m limited a bit in how much I can help, but I’ll give it my best shot!

    I tried the links on your page here:

    On my iPhone 6 in Safari, the link on the text “The Sleepy Castle – The Ball” is working correctly for me. Additionally, when I click on the link on my laptop (and phone), I’m not seeing any redirectingat text in the URL. Could you clarify where you’re clicking (desktop or phone) when you see this messaging? Also, what kind of setup (phone and browser) are you using when the links aren’t opening?

    Thanks, Jeremy.

    After researching the matter I fixed the issue by moving the site to a new host.

    I was shocked to find out that WordPress was poaching my affiliate links. I can not believe they do that, it is completely unethical. Making it impossible to monetise your own blog is one thing, but this is a whole different ball game.

    Anyway, now it’s self-hosted all the issues have been resolved.

    Hi @elizaww,

    Since I can’t see a specific example, I can only hypothesize what may have happened. If you run into this error again, please point me to the example so I can confirm.

    Judging by the “redirectingat” portion of the add you mention, I think this may have been an affiliate link redirection. We only redirect links which could be affiliate links, but aren’t. This is also rate-limited, which means that even then it doesn’t covert all could-be-an-affiliate links. However, the important point is that this shouldn’t be redirecting affiliate links that you have added into posts (only non-affiliate links that could be affiliate links). As I mentioned previously, if you experience otherwise, please let us know!
