links to archives
-
Hi,
I did some search on the topic on support pages and on the forums, but with little success (see below).
When writing posts on my blog <http://brokeringclosure.wordpress.com> I frequently want to link certain older posts I wrote some time ago. When I create a link with a usual mechanism, and using the permalink to the archived post, I’m getting annoying pingbacks. This behavior was described here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pingbacks-in-internal-links?replies=1#post-190699
As the post is from 2008 I was thinking that perhaps the problem is resolved in some neat way. Perhaps some form of shortcode could be used? Like [archives:title_of_the_archived_post] etc….
So:
What’s the best way to add links to archived post within the blog so that pingpacks are not triggered?
Thanks in advance!
Michal

uh, ok i think I misinterpreted the functionality.
You are getting pingbacks but to the older posts. So:
If you wrote a post A and later on wrote a post B which links to A then you will get pingbacks as comments to post A that there exist post B that is linking to it.
Which is actually quite neat… :)
Nevertheless, some short mechanim for including links to the archives that would speed-up typing would be nice.

Hi there,
Are you aware of this? Can I stop self-pings? > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pingbacks/#can-i-stop-self-pings
