Links to Blog
-
On the last 2 blogs I have created, NONE of the outside links are “linking” to my blog. When you click a link I have added to my blog, it takes you to a message that the page does not exist.

Hi there,
There was a brief issue with links redirecting incorrectly a few days ago. We fixed it as quickly as possible however some posts were affected. Unfortunately the only thing that can be done if your links are still not directing correcting to your blog is to create a copy of the affected article and republish it. You can then delete the old one.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

@amightywp – My ‘insert/edit link’ is still not working; even on new blogs I create.
Thank you for your help.

I’m so sorry to hear that! So to clarify, when you click “insert/edit link” that part does not work, or when you add the link and publish and then try to visit the link it goes to a 404 error page?
Please let me know!
-
the second happens – when I add the link and publish and then try to visit the link it goes to a 404 error page
-
Can you provide an example? I have been trying with your most recent post:
And when I go to it from other locations using that link or the shortlink (http://wp.me/p3UEo1-242), it works just fine.
Where is it posted that it’s not working?
-
I stopped trying to use the link after jan 12. I am having to use the long URL from sites.
-
OK, if you look at all of the links in those posts, they have double http://. For example:
http://http//www.jihadwatch.org/islam-101
http://http//www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2015/01/09/map-frances-growing-muslim-population/
http://http//www.gatestoneinstitute.org/3305/france-no-go-zonesWhen you are entering your links, our insert link tool automatically inserts the “http://” for you: https://cloudup.com/idx4bTQR9aZ
If you just paste in, it will usually over-write that initial http://, but if you’re not careful you might be pasting in right next to it, which is what is causing this problem.
In either case, all you need to do is go in and edit these links (just select the links and click the link button again) and remove the second http// (the one without the colon) and you should be good to go!

YES! That was it!! Thank you so much – I really appreciate your time and effort in helping me resolve this issue!

Not a problem at all! Once we all got on the same page, we were 3/4rs of the way there!
Let me know if you need anything else!
