– pagesi write a list of people and next to them their email addresses. but i have trouble finding the proper link button for people to just click email addresses and start contacting them directly. WP says that the link button will redirect to an url…this is not what i am looking for.
can anyone explain me how it works?

You must add a widget. If you go to design -> widgets you can add a “Links” widget. However, I’m not sure you’re able to do this with email addresses, as the widget is designed to link to other blogs or websites.

For the link, you need to use the following, but this is not really a good idea. Spam bots constantly cruise the web looking for email address to send junk spam to, and if you post their email addresses on your blog, then they will end up getting a lot of spam.
<a href="mailto:(email visible only to moderators and staff)">name of person here</a> -

Actually, in the visual editor you could highlight the text you want to use as the link and then click the link button and add the following (with the correct email address):
mailto:(email visible only to moderators and staff) -
Also by linking your name to your blog it will serve the purposes…
If you need to ask a support question in the forum then it will make it easier for the volunteers to see what blogging platform your using & will aide them in giving you a more accurate answer to your question.

I always encode an email address whenever I put one on my blog. I use the one here http://www.coderlab.us/playground/email_encoder.php

I’m sorry to be asking so late in the game, but emilioinsolera, do you have a WordPress.COM blog? If so, please give us the link starting with http:// and consider linking it to your username so forum volunteers know what platform you’re blogging on. Thnx

Great! Thanks for doing that.
The email address on your blog isn’t clickable, so if you want people’s email program to open a mail when clicking on your address, use the encoder that vivian linked to above. It will confuse the spambots, but not email programs. Certainly more visitor friendly than having to copy the email address, paste it somewhere else and then edit it before pasting it yet again into an email’s “To” field. Just sayin’…
