Links to my blog

    Hi,
How can I make it so that when a follower receives an email from me alerting them to a new post, they actually have to click through to my blog to read the whole article. I accidentally did this once by creating a dotted line saying ‘more’ at the top of my finished post (I think?!) but I don’t know how to create it again? Thanks, Miss Chia

    Hi there,

they actually have to click through to my blog to read the whole article. I accidentally did this once by creating a dotted line saying ‘more’ at the top of my finished post (I think?!)

To achieve your requirement you have to use more tag in your post, refer below link for details.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/

Also make sure you have below setting in place,
    1. Go to your website with logged in to WordPress.com and click on “Customize” at right bottom corner.
    2. Select “Content Options” on left side panel
    3. Select “Post excerpt” instead of ‘Full Post’ under Blog Display

This way you can enable exerpts for all posts on your blog.

If you want to enable it for particular post then you have to change it from Edit of option of that post,
    Refer below link,

    Excerpts

Let me know if you need more information.

    Happy to help :)

  • Hello there, I think you did it right previously by using the More Tag. :)

The More Tag button can be seen at the first row and far right of the toolbar on your editing screen, just beside the button with the text “ABC” (that’s the spelling check button, by the way). You could add the More Tag after a paragraph or two so your follower can only see an excerpt of your blog posts but not the complete content.

For more information on the More Tag, please check out this article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/.

    Hope this clarifies.
