Links to my Blog Categories going to other blogs

RE: http://otandemo.wordpress.com
I’m trying to use the posting Categories, which I have created (Assignments, Student Writings, Introductions etc.) I’m going to be teaching a workshop on blogging with WordPress and so I’m testing everything as I go along. When I go to my blog page where my posts are (Class Blog) and select one of the categories under one of the posts, I am transported to a page where there are posts from blogs everywhere. Shouldn’t this just be going to the posts in my blog that have been assigned to my categories? I really don’t want my students (ESL) going off to other people’s blogs, but I do want them to be able to find things on our class site as it grows.
Any help anyone can provide would be most appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s how categories work. If you put the Categories widget in your sidebar, then those will link to your posts only. But the categories under posts are global tags, that automatically connect to all wordpress.com posts linked to that category.

Thanks for the explanation.
Is there a way to delete this feature? below my posts and leave it in the sidebar?

Not without the paid CSS upgrade and some experience editing CSS.
The only other way is on settings > privacy, select either the middle or lower settings. The middle takes you out of search engines, and the lower one is private and only users you invite can then access your blog.
