Links to pages NOT in menu

I am trying to figure out how to add some pages that can get linked to, but not show up in the menu at the top or the sidebar menu.

    Example:
    Main Menu at the top
    The Adventures
(I will add more later – like about or something like that)

sidebar (can I always have it match the top menu – but not inlucde the Africa 2012 etc)
    The adventures
    Africa 2012
    Disneyland Paris 2012

Then when I click on the page to go to Africa 2012, in that page I want to have my verbiage and then have a page that has the itinerary in it with links to those pages).

    travelmagicaladventures.com/magicaladventure

Right now – I can’t get the day 1 Tanzania to not show in the menu on the sidebar.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to create custom menus. See here:

Thanks…I did find a plugin that would allow me to check for it to NOT show in menu.

But it looks like the custom menu would help for a drop down menu from the header menu.

The blog linked to your username is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or Custom links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of exactly which items appear in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus

thanks…the blog I am using is
    http://www.travelmagicaladventures.com/magicaladventure
which is hosted by my domain for travelmagicaladventures.

I read thru the create your own menu, which does sound better…but need time to read and understand.

I also just read a whole lot on categories vs pages etc. Confusing for newbies!

The basic thing I want to do is blog per day with pictures on our trip and if people want to comment ..let them comment on that page…but I don’t think that will work ….commenting on front page I guess is good too.

I will try this custome menu too. Thanks.

That site is self-hosted and you need to head over to the WordPress.org forums as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.

If you are not familiar with the differences, see this support document.
