Links to Uploaded Documents

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a static page with a list of document names. I want to link those document names to the actual documents in the WordPress Media section so that when someone clicks on the name or a link next to the name on the static page they are sent to the actual document where they can then read or download it. I can’t seem to find out how to do this in the guides I’ve consulted, so I’m not sure it can be done.

    A further goal is to have the document link listed on the static page open in a different tab so that the actual document can be read online as a web page (HTML) and then have a tab giving the reader a choice of downloading it in PDF, EPUB, or MOBI formats. Is this possible?

    My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. Just a beginner here. Any help or references would be greatly appreciated. This is for a WordPress.COM site.

    Hi there!

    The only files you could embed are PDFs , you wouldn’t be able to embed an EPUB or MOBI. You can, however add the links that will open the files in a new tab:
