jetpack, akismet and other functions that connect my site to wordpress.com are blocked.

Do you get any specific error message?
Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Safari or Google Chrome?

Nope, no error messages. My hosting company emailed WP nearly two weeks ago about it and so far, have received no reply. It concerns my Jetpack, Akismet and RSS feeds. Browser is immaterial. My hosting co got it working by setting up some kind of workaround but that’s all I know.

I don’t see any outstanding issues on our end, your self-hosted site seems to be correctly connected to your WordPress.com account.
If you still encounter issues, please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site:
To do so, follow these steps:
1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
2) Click on “Help” tab in the upper right side of the page and click the link for “Jetpack Debugging Center.”
3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
5) Click the “Contact Support” button.Thanks!

I think you’ve entirely missed the point. Yes, I now have the connections but only because my excellent hosting company figured out a way of getting around the block that appears to have been put in place by wordpress.com (and which as far as I know, is still in place but you’d have to talk to Positive Internet about that).
As I said, my hosting company got in touch with wordpress.com at the beginning of last week when the disconnects started. So although my connections are now working again, I need to know what happened.

I can’t seem to find any message from Positive Internet or someone else referring to your site. We’ve never encountered any issues regarding a block with the many hosting companies using Jetpack.
It would be great if they contact us directly via this e-mail address. Make sure they include williambowles.info in their message so we know they are working on your site.

Thanks, I’ve forwarded it to them. I really don’t know what’s going on. I tried to get through to the Jetpack Center from my Dashboard but no go (I’ve messaged Jetpack Support on this, so maybe we should end this thread?)B
