links widget

  I distinctly remember that I set my links widget to open in a new tab 2 weeks ago before the site changes. ( I find this most annoying and wanted my viewers to have the links they click opened in a new page)

  I was busy for 2 weeks and came back this week to start my blog.. I had set up my Links widget before this and they went to a new tab when I clicked on them before. I have not changed my theme, but since I logged in this week, there are no longer ‘options’ in the links tab and they open in the page being browsed atm?

  Did I dream this feature?? I could not have been that tired surely :/

  Support has been GREAT to date but for some reason I cannot mail them to ask with regard to this issue at the moment.

  What you are looking for isn’t actually configured in the Links Widget, but in the Links Menu itself. http://support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/

  I looked here already, there are no options there to set it htat it opens on a seperate tab??? I had it set before and was logged off for 2 weeks so I can’t understand why it is suddenly not set that way?

  It appeared to be something with my browser, it was acting funny all day yesterday.

  When I logged in this morning everything was back to normal.

  Mistylook, the theme you are using, does not have any widget options for the links widget. Most other themes do, but the options are:

  Show Link Image
  Show Link Name
  Show Link Description
  Show Link Rating

  I’ve never seen a theme here where you could have the links widget open in a new window.

  One option is to create your own links widget using a text widget and then you could add target=”_blank” to each link so they would open in a new window. Do be careful with target blank though. Having websites open everything in new windows is one of the top 10 things people complain most about on the web.
