links within a blog

Help! I have tried every which way to get this to work, even skimming some of the forum quest/answ. I want to insert a link within a paragaph or post. I have done it before on Blogger, but can’t get it right here. The code I used before is: Calories You Want To Count. This is just an example.
In my latest post, I wanted to insert the highlighted name as the link; instead had to note the URL at the bottom at the post. Not too professional.

I CANNOT believe how easy this is!! I sat for hours trying to figure this out, and almost smile at myself now. Thanks so much. I did try to follow the sticky directions but somehow got lost – think I was just reading too much into it. I’ve been avoiding using this little posting gem, but will now have this down pat for future.

I have the same problem. I see that help page, but I don’t have those options on my write post page, no link button, no tree. I have a button that says link but when I try to use it nothing happens.

We have two editors on wordpress.com blogs. You have the standard editor working and the instructions are for the visual rich text editor.
To turn the visual rich text editor on go here Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> look for the checkbox to use the visual rich text editor -select it and click “Update Profile” to save. Now the instructions will work for you.
