Links won't appear in both pages and posts

Hello. I tried to attach a link to an image on a page. As soon as I attempted to include the link to image, the image vanished leaving only the link. I tried multiple times with the same issue.
I attempted the same on a post end result was the same as my experience in pages.
Attaching links worked fine late Sunday but not today. Thanks for your help. I am using Comet theme. BTW, my other blogs under different themes are not experiencing this issue. I have no idea what I did wrong. Ugh! Thanks again for your help.

Hi there. How exactly did you try to attach the link to the image? Using the Edit Image pop-up or by editing the html directly?
And can you please give a link to the specific post or page where this is happening?

I added an image from my library to a page. I then wanted to attach a link to my image redirecting to my post. Always worked up until this roadblock. I tried doing it in HTML too and it wouldnt work. I also tried several images and different links too on both post and page.

I’m looking at your page now, and the images are linking to the media files, i.e. the actual jpg images in your media library. To have the image link to a post you’ll need to change the link to a custom URL, yes.
There are four link options for images:
None – self-explanatory, I think;
Attachment page – opens image on its own page within the blog with sharing and comment options;
Media file – opens full-size image in browser; and
Custom URL – opens page at the internal or external link provided, what it sounds like you want to do.
