List of all blog entries when using static homepage

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using the Digg3 theme and have a static homepage. What I’d like to know is whether there is a way to see a list of all my blog entries at once the way WP blog entries appear when no static homepage is set. Is this possible or are the posts relegated to being only visible via categories and archives?

    Thanks for the help.

Take a look at this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/ Basically, you should have two pages: one for the static page and one for the posts. If I read the FAQ correctly, you will end up with a tab at the top which links to your posts page.

Also, it looks like you have two Home tabs – the first two tabs go to the same place. Take a look at this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/i-have-2-home-page-links/

I have static pages and I really like to but there are definite disadvantages in the promo of pages other than the front page, I’ve never really understood why because if they say that pages are only treated as posts to the top page why don’t they get promoed in the same way and be tagged and categorized?-that’s just my thoughts it’s not a complaint, the advantage [slight] is that if people like your top page they may do a little tour and so add to the hits count

Here are 2 thoughts have an index or contents page and try to give it prominence you can list every article on your blog in whatever order you like and put the permalink url up so people can access
as well as that with the new static top post -which is brill- which is changable you can do a little flash promo of a post from one of your pages and give it tags and categories, add the url with it.
In other words create your own table of contents as a page but use the new static post on the top page to promo individual posts from your pages, as I says the advantage of that is you are adding tags and cats to that post.
Also by doing this you can get those posts promoed on Blogcatalog etc and the search engines.
