List of titles, not full posts, on category archive page?

  I am considering moving a blogspot blog here to wordpress, but I want to see what options there are with the category archives. Right now, I am trying the Dawn-to-Dust theme, and when I click on the category name, I see the full posts in each category. We will have 40 posts in each category, and we need our readers to be able to find the post they need quickly. Is there a way to just show titles in the category archive, or perhaps just the manual excerpts?

  First of all, Welcome to WordPress.com. :)
  You can control the number of posts to be shown in archives by assigning Show Atomst [] posts at Dashboard -> Settings ->Reading.
  Also, you can use manual excerpt or can chose a theme, from the list given on link below, which show only titles on Archive Pages. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/
