Listing links on a page

Hello, I have a few queries… I did do a search but may not be using the correct terminology.
I am using the Manifest theme..using a custom menu, and my blog is http://aileenmcgee.wordpress.com

I have managed to list a number of articles on my sub page, The Bright Side, under the parent page Publications. However I only want a list of headings that the reader can click which would link to each column/article. Can you help me with this?

Also, I think I know the answer to this but on my A World of our Own sub page can I create a link to Amazon and Poolbeg publishing? I think not on wordpress.com but just checking.

Finally can you advise where I can read how to post poetry in the correct format on Manifest.

I hope I have picked the correct section.

Thanks you so much in anticipation.

    Aileen

Your first question isn’t clear to me. If you mean a list of headings at the top of the page that link further down to the articles on the same page, see here:

Or do you want to transfer those articles to separate pages and link to them?

Hi there, Thanks for the reply.

I don’t want to do the latter. I just want to see a list of headings on the page for e.g.

    The Bright Side
When life takes the Scenic Route
    Blog or Die

Then the reader/blogger chooses heading, clicks column appears…soooo the link you sent.. does it do that and how do I actually set it up…I know I go to the proposed page..then what?

    Really appreciate your help.

Also, can you tag the content of such articles that is on a static page, like you do posts…I did read and know the difference between static pages and posts but just making sure I didn’t miss something.

    Thanks again,

    Aileen

Yes, that’s what my post is about. Study the post, then go to your page editor, switch to HTML, start copy-pasting the code models and follow the instructions.

No, you cannot tag pages: only posts can be tagged or categorized. But you needn’t really worry about that: tags had been greatly abused to deceive users and send them to sites with irrelevant content, so search engines nowadays look at your actual content rather than your tags. See Google’s own Matt Cutts here:

That’s what I thought and will study it and follow your thorough instructions. Thank you.

Ok, I’ll have a look at that for my own understanding.

    Thanks for all
