Listing number of email subscribers on my website
-
Hi,
I’m new to WordPress. And, I’ve spent no small amount of time trying to figure out how to show the number of Email Subscribers on my blog. Can you help?
And, I guess my more general question is: How can I customize and change the default setting for widgets?
For example I’d like the actual button or what shows up for the “Follow” widget to be bigger. And, I’d like for who’s following to be displayed. Is that possible?
Thank you in advance for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You can show the number of email subscribers to your blog using the Follow Blog widget. When you click on the widget in the customizer you should see the settings, the number of followers is down the bottom as shown here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
For your Follow widget – The way your widgets are displayed depends on your theme, so you might want to browse other themes to find one which has what you’re looking for.
To display who’s following your blog, you can use the My Community widget. Take a look here – it explains how to show the list of who’s following. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/my-community/
Hope this helps :)

May I please add to this thread?
Your wordpress.com subscribers are found here https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog_subscribers
You can also use: https://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats
*replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your site.
Note that the title there includes Publicize followers from social networks. https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
Your email only subscribers are here https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog_subscribers&type=email
Note 1
Many of us keep our personal email addresses off the web as they are for family and friend use only. Instead, we register throwaway email addresses that do not personally identify us and use them for blogging purposes.Note 2
Displaying the number of followers in the follow blog widget is optional. Some feel it looks like a desperate plea when bloggers are just beginning and others feel like displaying the number in a well established blog is akin to bragging. Also note that widget visibility settings define which pages widgets are displayed on https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

We also have a blog subscription shortcode which you can make use of. The help page on it is right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/ You can also include the subscription shortcode at the end of every post you publish.

Those notes are super helpful. The heart behind the blog, my heart, actually doesn’t care about the numbers. So, maybe that’s where I shall keep things. Thank you for your assistance and input.
