listing posts question

Is there a way for me to have the titles of all my posts listed at the bottom each page? I am using the Archive widget but that just shows the numbers of posts per month. I don’t see anything on the widget list that would do what I’m talking about. TIA

You mean in the bottombar? You can, by adding a Text widget and pasting the links to your posts in it, but do you think you’ll like the look of it once your posts become too many? If you really want a list of all your posts, I would suggest a new page instead. And if you file your posts under various categories, you could also try the Categories widget as an intermediate solution between the Archive and the full list.

Great answer, as usual, panaghiotisadam. No, I don’t think that I will like the look of what I was thinking about. I like your categories idea and think that it will solve the problem better than a new page would. I haven’t filed my posts under various categories b/c I didn’t know what they were for, but this is a good time to learn. Thanks.

“As usual”? Thanks for the honor!

(Truth is I’ve given a few careless answers, too; fortunately raincoaster and vivianpaige always come to the rescue!)

OK, experts, here’s a nitpicking question.

I have moreorless figured out the very basics of categories and I’ve got what I want BUT why do two out of three of my categories — “scarves” and “yarn” — NOT start with upper case letters, the way I typed them. Only “Inspiration” came out right. I edit but they revert. Don’t see a Save button on the Manage Categories page.

The easy way out would be to change “Inspiration” to “inspiration” but I’d rather not. TIA

All three of your categories start with a capital, as I see them (Mac, both Firefox and Safari).

Oh, crap, is this another browser issue? I’ve been using IE (and XP) but will check Firefox now.

I see the capitals in firefox, safari, opera and flock for mac.

I see at the end of posts in catagories Inspiration Scarves Yarn and yarn. I’d check the older post which has the lower case and recatagorize to the upper case. Also I’d check Manage>Catagories and see if you have both Yarn and yarn in there.

It’s not a browser issue. All three categories correctly start with upper case letters on the bottom bar but as bazaarofdreams noticed, the end of posts has both “Yarn” and “yarn” categories. I will try re-categorizing, and Manage>Categories again, but I think that I’ve already been down that road.

I thought of something and checked it in my test blog: I think initially you wrote “yarn”, then changed it to “Yarn”. If I’m right, you’ll haave to delete that category, then go to the relevant posts and re-create it.

Bingo! I did start out with “yarn” and probably “scarves” also, but maybe I only deleted one lower case category but not the other. Now I will delete the yarn category altogether and try starting over.

Both of today’s problems have been fixed so life is good and I’m logging off. Thank you all for your fantastic help.

And I thank you both for this good-humored evening.

Sometimes it is good just to leave it alone when everything is working. I know the feeling. Glad to see the problem was resolved.
