Listing pro – 2 issues

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I’m having issues with my listing pro theme. my register page seemingly doesn’t have a template for registration to tie in with the listings and users. I can’t find an option to include this or know how to ensure it will link with the listing pro listings, users and subscriptions.

Secondly – I have included the stripe API key but the subscription tab is empty. this service is live on another site so i believe it should have pulled through all of the active subscriptions, What do I need to do?

  • Hello –

    Thanks for reaching out.

Looking at that site I can see it’s hosted on GoDaddy. It’s not using our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com.

For help, I would contact them first. Otherwise, there’s a volunteer network available for folks who run their own WordPress installations, which is how you’re set up. That is available at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

On WordPress.com our team offers a managed hosting environment. This means that we handle all the back end details of the site and we do the heavy lifting for you. Things like back ups, updates, security, spam, seo, ssl, mobile optimization, top notch hosting specs, and sorting out any errors or bugs that pop up along the way. When you run a stand alone WordPress installation, like what y’all have set up, then all of those details fall on to you – so instead of being able to focus on content and reaching goals, you wind up spending a ton of time and frustration fixing these sort of issues.

All of our hosting plans are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you think a managed environment is a better setup for the project and your experience level then we can talk more about how to move your site over and what’s involved with that process. You’d be able to get started for $4/month on the personal plan option.

I’m not sure what sort of payment integration is needed for your project but figured I’d include the different options we offer here.

surely the issues I’ve listed are to do with the theme and not my hosting as that’s completely unrelated?

  • Hello there,

For theme-specific issues, I recommend contacting the theme developer since Listing Pro is developed by a different company.

Doing a search for the theme, it looks like it’s on ThemeForest:
    https://themeforest.net/item/listingpro-multipurpose-directory-theme/19386460

There is a support page here as well:
    https://themeforest.net/item/listingpro-multipurpose-directory-theme/19386460/support

You can also read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

If you’re interested in hosting at WordPress.com, I’d like to highlight that we have a number of themes that provide the ability to visually edit all aspects of your site using the site editor. And then, we could provide support for your site and theme.

Please feel free to reply to this message if you have any other questions and have a great day!
