Little nightmare: Three different problems.
-
Hi happy people! I hope someone can help me please, asap. I have three problems with my blog http://www.linternasybosques.com:
1. When I published my new post last week the featured image had an error (a black square). I already fixed the image but the wrong one keeps coming up every time anyone share the post on Facebook. here is the link: https://linternasybosques.wordpress.com/2016/05/04/te-cuento-un-cuento-mama/
Try sharing it on Facebook and you will see. What can I do? Help!
2. This message keeps coming up everytime I try to see the stats in my blog: “The website “https://wordpress.com” is requesting 10 MB of disk space to store “calypso” as a database on your disk. Currently, this website is allowed to use 5 MB of disk space”. What is this? This “calypso” thing does not sound familiar.
3. And finally: some subscribers had told me that from some weeks now, every time they receive the email with the new post the sender is “WordPress.com” not “Linternas y bosques” anymore. Why is this happening?
Could you please please help me with all this? Specially number 1, is the most urgent. Thank you soooo much!!
Adolfo

Hi there!
1. Sometimes Facebook will hang onto the old information for shares when it’s updated after publishing. They have this tool to scrape your post and update what they’ll share: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/. (I tried it and the information looked like what I thought should share, so maybe this has resolved? If not, put the URL in and click the “fetch new” button to update it.)
2. Calypso is the name of the dash you see at WordPress.com > My Sites, which includes the stats page. This sounds like a warning due to settings on your computer/browser, so there may be an adjustment you need to make there… Calypso is WordPress.com though, so it’s not anything shady. :)
3. Make sure you add a Site Title here: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/. The name in the box there will be used as the “from” name on new post emails.
Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Great, Sarah! You are a magician! Thank you very much! Nightmare is over. =)
Almost everything solved. I only have to try to update my browser for problem 2, then. I will let you know if I succeed.
Thanks again!!!

Sarah, can I bother you with one more thing?
How can I export all my subscribers emails so I can send them a newsletter through mailchimp?
I don`t want to use the WP newsletter anymore because it does not look nice. Thanks a lot!
-
Sure! :)
Email followers are not able to be exported to use in another way. They’re following with their WordPress.com account or an email address, which we we do not have permission to share. (They can be moved from one site to another, but the list itself can’t be exported.)
If you’d like to create a mailing list, you’ll want to add a way for readers to subscribe to it on your site, like with the MailChimp option described here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/mailchimp/

Thanks!
The thing is: I will move my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org.
Will I be able to move my subscribers too then?
Thanks a lot again.

Yes, you can move your subscribers from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org site by using the Jetpack plugin.
Steps are outlined here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site
