Live Blogging in WordPress.com

  I just read that the live blogging plug-in is only available on WordPress.org. If this is correct, do I have any alternatives I CAN use to do that kind of live updating on my WordPress.com blog?

  I’m not 100% sure what you mean by live blogging, as that term is used in a couple of different ways.

  For WordPress.com we have Post by Email, as well as apps for all major phone OS platforms that allow you to blog wherever you are.

  However, if you mean you wish to add a livestream to a blog post that is constantly updating, that is not currently possible on WordPress.com. We don’t allow most iframe or javascript embeds, due to security and stability concerns. This is the tradeoff we make in order to keep the millions of sites we host running at top speed with virtually no downtime.

  For plugins that enable this feature, or free use or embed codes, you’ll need to use your own hosting provider and install the free WordPress software at WordPress.org.
