Live chat for Business plan
-
Is live chat support available at the moment for Business plan users? I’m on the Premium plan and the live chat here hasn’t been available for days. I have an urgent problem so wondering if it’s worth upgrading to get it fixed faster.

Hello!
The Business plan and eCommerce plan 24/7 Priority Live Chat Support does promise faster support than you receive with the Premium plan, as well as weekend coverage.
It does not sound right that Premium plan live support chat has not been available for days, other than Saturdays and Sundays. That might a browser issue or connection issue. You might want to clear your cache, reboot; try a different computer or Internet connection.
Either way, your post is flagged for staff attention now.

Hi @fulhamso, I actually don’t see a Business or Premium plan associated with this account. Did you have another site with an upgraded plan? And if so, can you log in as that user then try reaching out?
I did note this account has a few a la carte upgrades that we offered several years ago. These don’t come with plan-based support, but you’d be welcome to upgrade if you’d like. The domain mapping and custom domain would both be included in Premium, along with several other perks, so if you’re interested in that you can upgrade at https://wordpress.com/plans .
Hoping this helps.

Oops, yes I am logged in with the wrong account. The account that has problems has old-style “Custom design”, “No ads” and “Domain mapping” upgrades. My mistake, I thought it was Premium.
When I go to https://wordpress.com/help/contact with either account, there’s only an email option. If I switched to Premium would I see chat support there?

Yes, all paid plans come with Monday to Friday live chat support, the Business plan offers it 24/7:

My other account is now on the Business plan but live chat is still not showing as an option when I’m logged in with that account. Am I missing something?

Live chat also depends on availability of our agents. We have a limited number of staff signed into live chat at any given time, and each one can handle a limited number of chats at once, and they cater to users across all our plans. So if no one is able to take a new chat at the moment you visit the contact form, it will let you submit an email ticket instead, as we don’t use a queuing system for live chat where you’re kept on hold until someone becomes available.
Email tickets from Business Plan customers do get prioritised, so if you submit a ticket you shouldn’t need to wait too long for a reply.
