Live Chats

  Is there any way that I can add a live chat to my WordPress.com blog? I’m trying to make my blog as good as possible and think that a live chat would be good.

  We used to have 4 chat options but we no longer have them. At present there are no chatboxes or forums that can be embedded into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins.

  One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.

  Your welcome. As yopu are new I will offer this unsoloucyted advice. Don’t assume that creating a forum is going to attract more traffic and more comments on your blog because it tends to do the opposite. It tends to create a nest of unrelated blah, blah, blah that does nothing at all to establish your authority among other blogs in the same niche and it does nothing for the pagerank on your blog.

  Quality comments on blog posts are hard to come by and it takes skill to draw them out. Chat that’s not specifically aimed and relationship building resulting in effective promotion is a time waster. Unless your manage your time and what communicate very well chatting takes your focus away from the most meaningful activities like (1) creating and publishing a growing archive of unique high quality content http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/08/28/writing-a-blog-post/ that baits comments, and (2) crafting quality blog comments to build meaningful online relationships that benefit your blog and the blogs of those with similar content.
