I need to speak with someone in person for help. How can I do that?
-
We are all people. There isn’t a single dead person or zombie answering support questions here.
Exactly what is it that you need help with?
-
There is no phone support but bloggers are writers and publishers so we have no issues with reading and comprehending written instructions.

I am the chair of an organization that had a website and webmaster. That webmaster’s computer crashed and he “lost all documents needed to maintain the site.” In the meantime, the old site gets plenty of hits from google, but we have no way to update it. I was told that I could make a wordpress site and then have the old domain name point to it. I’m pretty sure that we have done that, and now the old site shows up in my WordPress under “My Sites” but I cannot edit it and I’ve been playing around for quite awhile with it and am very frustrated.

Hi there,
In the meantime, the old site gets plenty of hits from google, but we have no way to update it
What is the name of the old site? Also what is the custom domain attached to that site?
and now the old site shows up in my WordPress under “My Sites” but I cannot edit it and I’ve been playing around for quite awhile with it and am very frustrated.
Can you not edit it because you can not gain access to the site? Or is it because you are having trouble with certain tools? If you have forgotten the password to the site, you can reset your password here:

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I was told that I could make a wordpress site and then have the old domain name point to it. I’m pretty sure that we have done that, and now the old site shows up in my WordPress under “My Sites” but I cannot edit it and I’ve been playing around for quite awhile with it and am very frustrated.
I see that the domain has been mapped here to WordPress.com, but you have not yet pointed the nameservers over to us. It is still showing the old site when I visited the domain.
You will need to contact the domain provider in order to update the nameservers. For more information on updating nameservers, please visit our support page:
Both the domain arkansasmasters.org and the old site is hosted with WideOpenWest:
http://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=arkansasmasters.orgYou can see the old site under your account now because you were able to attach it to your account via JetPack.
If it is the self-hosted site that you are having trouble editing, we won’t be able to help you here, we don’t have access to the dashboard. you must contact WideOpenWest.
For the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, our support doc provides a breakdown of the two:
Please let me know if you have any questions or issues. I know it’s a lot of information, but I am here to help!
Thanks!
