No zombies are allowed to help in the forum and the supportbot is sort of a person so please don’t hurt it’s feeling
However – what is the blog you really need help with? http://thefrontsteps.wordpress.com/ looks dead with nothing new since 2009 and your name links to something that is not hosted here

That’s exactly the issue. I have thefrontsteps.com, which is my current blog. I have requested someone contact me to wipe this wp.com blog clean, import the xml from my live site, switch back to wp.com, and shut down my self hosted site.

You can empty the site yourself with these instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/ or if you have two much content, we can request the staff to clear thefrontsteps.wordpress.com/ for you
However the staff will not import the content from thefrontsteps.com or set up your site here, or shut that site down – they will transfer stats and subscribers if you are using the JetPack Plug-in
If you are not able to do the import content from thefrontsteps.com to your blog here they you would need to hire it done – codepoets have a list of people that will do such things for hire

Thanks. I’d like the staff to empty it for me. I have an xml file from thefrontsteps.com I can import…but I already tried and it didn’t get all the posts. That’s why I need some help. It pulled everything over except the actual posts. Pics, comments, tags, etc. made it, but no content.
Maybe it didn’t import because the file is 17mb?

@ thefrontsteps, I’d be happy to empty the site thefrontsteps.wordpress.com for you. Please note that if I do so, ALL of the existing content, including all 1300+ posts, 8000+ comments, media and page content will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
If you wish to proceed, please confirm that you wish for all of that content to be removed. If you wish, you can create an export file first, just to make sure you have access to the content if there’s anything you may wish to have later.

I would love for you to empty it. I see you’re a happiness engineer. I see on wp.com you guys will transfer all content from .com to .org and make sure it works for a$99 fee. Can we also do that from .org to .com? I exported xml file for both sites. Should be easy enough.
Or just delete all my content here, and I’ll import from .org. If stuff goes missing, I’ll enlist the $99 service?

At this time we do not offer a Guided Transfer upgrade option for users who wish to transfer content from self-hosted sites to WordPress.com. However, you can import your content:

Thanks. My file is 17MB, but you show max 15 limit. Will it all still import, or do I need to reduce?

You can try a single import; if it doesn’t work, you can create multiple export files by splitting up posts by date and then importing those files separately.

Trying to import as we speak, and WP appears to be timed out on it. I split the file into 3 and am hung up on first file….
