Live Preview of Themes

Did the live preview option go away? I don’t see the button anywhere. Am I staring right at it? Also, where is the A-Z browse option. The current browsing set up is giving me a headache…

I get an Activate and a Preview button when I hover over each theme. I don’s see an A-Z browse option though.

Hi Claudia – this is what I see under Appearance > Themes. Is that where you’re looking, or are you somewhere else?

Interesting. I did say I might be looking straight at it, but I swear I didn’t see this button earlier. :) There did used to be an A-Z option. I’ll never look through all these themes, just saying.

there is no preview option there.

You’re right, there isn’t a preview option from the theme showcase ( http://theme.wordpress.com/ if you’re not logged in, and https://wordpress.com/themes/ if you’re logged in) because at that point the showcase has no way know on which blog you might want to preview the theme.
You can get an alphabetical list of all themes here if you’re logged in:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/alpha/
It would be super helpful if you could let me know what you use the A-Z view for so I can pass it along to our developers working on the theme showcase. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks. The reason I like A-Z is that sometimes I remember the name of a theme I liked at some earlier time, but don’t want to sift through the random order of thumbnails. And somehow having them alphabetized helps me FEEL as if it’s organized. The way stuff is thrown at me now is upsetting. :) For ex, I seem to like the twenty-whatever series, so there’s a good chance I’ll look at those again. Under T. :)

Thanks for letting me know what you like about A-Z, I’ve passed it along to the team.
If you ever want to see all themes in the Twenties series of default themes, if you start typing Twenty in the search field theme under Appearance > Themes, all themes in that series should immediately appear below. No need to sift through all themes until you arrive at the letter “T.” I hope that helps!

Yes, thank you, I did do that. Still, I kind of DO want to browse. And I might only remember that something started with a T. Browsing alphabetically, but with a T or a Twenty in mind is like going to the grocery story, where I might walk down the candy aisle, but I’m GOING to the produce section, and thus I have a rough idea of how much time I’ll spend.
