  I have designed my website with WordPress but cannot find it on the net. How do I make it live?

  Hi there,

  Please share your site address.

  When you first create your site, by default the site will be Private. In order to launch your site, you will need to verify your email address.

  Additionally, while launching a site, it gives you an option of selecting a paid domain but you can choose the last option which says skip the purchase and you continue with your free domain, and your site will be launched.

  You can launch your site from My Sites > Manage > Settings > General > Launch Site.

  Hi @suecqpr,

  It takes a couple of weeks before search engines display new sites. To explain how this works: Google’s robots (and other search engines) “crawl” the web daily looking for new content. When they find a new site, it takes a little while for it to be displayed properly when searched for by people.
  Note that you can help search engines find you by submitting your new site to their indexation services. Google, for example, has a tool called “Search Console” which allows you to submit your site: https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome

  Hi again. Amritkaur has explained to go to My Sites ➖Manage ➖Settings ➖General ➖Launch Site. However, I am unable to locate ‘launch site’, can someone please help?
  At the top left corner of the ‘my sites’ page is a line showing ‘set up’. This line is only 2/3rds complete, but I’m unsure of what else I need to do.
  I feel a bit of an idiot but this is the first time I have attempted to make a website.

  @suecqpr, your site is already public – that means it was launched and you will not see this option anymore :)

  I can now find my website online, but when I bring it up it has the ‘My Site’ etc at the top of the page which means that anyone can go into it and edit. Please advise.

  Only you can see that because you’re logged in as the site’s Administrator.

  No one else will. :)
