Liveleak Doesn’t Work with VodPod in WordPress 2.7
-
I tried using Vodpod to load some LIVELEAK videos into my blog— but they no longer load correctly
they automatically start running without anyone clicking them to start. this didn’t happen in earlier versions of WordPress.
Does anyone know why this is happening in version 2.7 ?
older posts with vodpod enabled Liveleak videos are fine—but new ones don’t post correctly.

Hey Raincoaster..
‘
didn’t think of that… here’s my blog link:https://stevesbraccia.wordpress.com/wp-admin
thanks for the quick reply to my query….

I’m thinking perhaps it’s that some LiveLeak videos are restricted to people 18 and over, and you wouldn’t be able to use those publicly. Can you give me a direct link to one of your posts that has this problem?
-
Absolutely… I just put a test post on line now for you..
here’s the link:

thanks !!

It does indeed autoplay. You could try thess instructions:
-
Sorry… this code: “viewcount=false&autoplay=false&brand=embed” doesn’t work..
i’ve even tried monkeying with the html code that vodpod provides with each post to wordpress— thinking the autoplay function was embeded in that code.. no luck…
i tried comparing a non-autostart html vodpod code to the current one to see if there was an obvious difference.. again no luck when i tried to alter the auto-start vodpod code to look like the old code…
i’m out of ideas short of not including any video from liveleak in my blog…
i’m open to any other suggestions.

I posted that video successfully to my WordPress blog:

Here’s a trick. On the LiveLeak page, make sure you click the “Embed/Links” tab BEFORE you click the Post to WordPress button. That will “reveal” the official embed code for that video. Otherwise the button can pick up the player from the liveleak page itself which has autoplay enabled.
Note also that you can always cut-and-paste the official embed code into the Post to WordPress window to make sure you’re getting the right version.

Hey Scott..
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU !!!
So that is the dirty little secret about the upgrade to Liveleak…..You must open the Embed/Links Tab before using Vodpod !!!!
I can’t tell you how nuts the autoplay was making me….
you’ve restored my sanity !!!
best to you this holiday season !
